About Roy's Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical

Worry-Free Repairs and Installs Since 1973

At Roy’s, we understand how stressful it is to lose plumbing, heating and cooling comfort. And while we can’t always prevent that stress from happening when those breakdowns first occur, what we can do is give you a great experience that takes that stress away quickly.

Creating a worry-free service experience takes teamwork, resources and skill. It also takes dedication from every HVAC technician, plumber, electrician and customer service rep we’ve got, all working with the same purpose: to make your repair or install as easy as possible, as quickly as possible.

We take pride in our community

Beyond our business success, we’re proud to be a part of this community and proud that so many of our neighbors continue to put their faith in us to keep their plumbing and HVAC systems running the way they should.

But it goes beyond good service. We’re dedicated to giving back to our community, as well. Every month, our Roy’s Cares program makes a donation to a local charity. Each time a technician places a lawn sign at the end of a job well done, we donate $5 to our monthly charity recipient. It’s just one way we dedicate ourselves to our city and the people in it—both in our business and beyond!

Our Story – The History of Roy’s Plumbing Heating & Cooling

Roy’s Plumbing, Heating, and Cooling was founded by Roy Dollendorf in 1973. Roy began, initially with plumbing, with the goal of providing customers with a higher level of customer care under the premise of always doing the “right thing”.

Roy exposed his son, Mike, to the business at a very young age. At the age of 8, because he was a handful at home, Roy and his wife, Marsha, believed the environment would provide a place for Mike to burn off some energy. Mike was Roy’s helper for many years – nights, weekends, and summers. The time and learning proved invaluable; Mike not only learned the skills of the trade but also a strong work ethic and the finer points of cultivating life-long customers.

Little did Mike know that those years spent helping his dad would pave the path for his future.

In 1983, the family and the business suffered an enormous loss when Roy passed suddenly from a massive heart attack. Circumstances were dire; Marsha committed to jump in, study and obtain her Master Plumbers license. If not for that decision, the company would not have survived. At the time, Mike was 17, a senior in high school. Mike altered his school schedule so that he finished classes at noon so that he could begin working at the business, running calls 5 days a week. The change in circumstance was difficult on many levels; there was so much Marsha and Mike didn’t know; maintaining the business was an act of love as well as survival. They partnered in earnest and were dedicated to keeping the business going.

Mike grew up at Roy’s … from shop boy and gopher to plumber and business owner/partner. Marsha continues her involvement in the business as Mike’s partner. Mike’s brother, John, is the plumbing manager; his son, Cody, is the lead dispatcher. Sarah, Mike’s daughter, is the company controller and HR manager. And Jake, Mike’s son, is filling several roles in operations. Roy’s Plumbing Heating & Cooling is truly a family affair.

The family has called the Buffalo area “home” Mike’s entire life. For Mike and his family, Buffalo is far more than just a city; it’s a community. The people are great and in many ways an extension of their own family. Buffalo provides the Dollendorf family a place to enjoy time together, marvel at the beauty of the changing seasons, and work and grow the family business.

Marsha, Mike, and their family have taken the greatest adversity, faced every challenge, and built a successful family business dedicated to servicing the home comfort needs of their Buffalo area neighbors.
